Biography
Jieun Lee (b.1986) is a contemporary painter whose work explores the relationships between time, space, and human emotion. Drawing from archit
ectural landscapes, anonymous figures, and dream-like scenes, she focuses on atmospheric moments that exist before or after an event rather than explicit narratives.
Through restrained color palettes, softened contours, and recurring spatial structures, Lee constructs sensory spaces in which figures, architecture, and landscape quietly permeate one another, remaining inseparable. Her works convey states of stillness, contemplation, and inward reflection, guiding viewers into a slowed perceptual experience shaped by memory and sensation.
Lee’s practice positions painting as a site where time and emotion quietly accumulate, presenting spaces that feel familiar yet subtly elusive.
